Watchstation - Cold War Radar Game (Open World, First Person)
A downloadable game
NEW DEMO COMING SOON! SEE NEW PLAYTEST!

One operator. One radar. A long winter.
You've been posted to an early-warning station in the middle of a forest nobody visits. Your job is simple on paper: watch the sky and report what you see.
In practice, the radar shows a blip. The radio picks up something that might be a voice. The transponder says nothing at all, which could mean anything. You take the binoculars outside and squint at a shape over the trees. Then the phone rings, and Command wants to know what it is.

Call it in, or let it go. Most contacts are harmless: airliners, weather balloons, birds, debris. Escalate everything and you're the operator who cried wolf. Miss the real one and it's far worse. The game never tells you which it was.
- Read the radar, tune the radio, interrogate the transponder. Each tells you a different half-truth.
- Take the binoculars outside and find the thing on its bearing, if the weather lets you.
- Argue with Command on a rotary phone. How you argue changes what they do.

The generator needs fuel and oil, and the fuse box has opinions. The radar dish ices up. The heater only burns wood you chop yourself. Food goes off. Sleep too little and you'll collapse at your post, and the station sits unmanned while things fly past.

Fish the river. Hunt deer and boar, read the tracks and the blood. Watch for wolves, and give the bears room, because they will knock you flat. Cook on a barrel stove, warm up in the banya, and keep an eye on what's in your bag before it turns.

Your free time is your own, and the forest is not empty. Boot prints that aren't an animal's. Something that came down from the sky. An aircraft that never finished its report. A tower with a better view. None of it is an order. All of it goes on your record.

Requisitions, missed contacts, fires, frostbite, a medal or two. At the end of the tour Command hands you a stamped service record, and you find out what kind of operator you were.
